How we build and verify listings

Sources
Listings are compiled from public business listings and the businesses' own websites, and enriched with business data from DataForSEO. We do not buy placement and we do not accept listings in exchange for payment.
Verification
An automated job checks listings every night.
- Each night the job checks a rolling 1/30 of all listings, so every listing is checked about once every 30 days.
- Each website is requested over HTTP. A 404 or 410 response, a DNS failure or a refused connection counts as down. Any other response, including 403, 429 and 5xx, counts as reachable. Timeouts, SSL errors and redirect loops are inconclusive and never count against a listing.
- We also look a business up in DataForSEO business data when its website is missing or down, or when it has not been looked up in 180 days. Lookups are limited each night, with listings that have no working website checked first.
- A listing is hidden only after two failed checks at least 7 days apart. A failed check means the website is down or missing and the business could not be found in business data. A one-off timeout, an inconclusive result, or an outage on our side never counts.
- If many sites appear down at once, we assume the fault is on our side and record no failures that night.
- Listings our job has hidden are rechecked every 30 days and restored automatically if the website is reachable again or the business is found in business data. Listings removed manually or at an owner's request are not restored by this job.
- Each listing shows "Verified <date>", the date of its last successful check: the business website was reachable, or the business was confirmed in business data, on that date. It does not mean we have inspected the business or endorse its work.
Ratings and reviews
Ratings and review counts come from DataForSEO business data where it is available, and are shown as reported. We do not scrape or republish review text. A listing without a rating simply has no data available.
Ranking and paid placement
No business pays for its position in our rankings today. We may introduce a featured tier in the future; if we do, featured listings will be clearly labelled and this page will be updated.
Corrections and removals
To correct a listing or ask for its removal, email [email protected] with the listing name and what should change. Owners can also claim a listing to update it.
